About ADHD assessment

A clinical pathway to clarity and diagnosis

A formal ADHD assessment is a structured clinical process used to determine whether your symptoms meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD, and to identify any other conditions that may be contributing to your presentation.

Our assessments are conducted by a Clinical Psychologist using validated screening instruments, a detailed clinical interview, and structured assessment tools. The outcome is a written assessment report that can be used by you, your GP, and any future treating clinicians to inform diagnosis and care.

NDIS

Updated

The NDIS generally does not guarantee coverage of the cost of a psychological assessment for ADHD. However, if you are already an NDIS participant, you may occasionally use existing funds if the assessment is directly linked to your NDIS goals. It is the client's responsibility to confirm whether NDIS funds can be utilised for psychological assessment.

Private Health Insurance

Some providers offer rebates for assessments. Contact your health fund directly to check your level of cover and eligibility.

Medicare

Rebates may apply for autism assessments with a paediatrician or psychiatrist referral, and FASD assessments with a GP referral. GP or allied health referrals for autism assessments are not eligible for Medicare rebates.
